I am a mother, a wife, a friend, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.

I enjoy movies and popcorn, maybe a little too much.
I love the sound and the beauty of the ocean, but I don't enjoy swimming in the saltwater.
I love hiking in the mountains and breathing in the fresh crisp air, but I don't enjoy the bugs I encounter along the way.
I love the heat of the summer, but I also enjoy seeing the snowfall, especially at Christmas.
I love to travel, but I also enjoy how it feels to have a shower in your own shower and sleep in your own bed.
I love yoga, even though sometimes it's a struggle to get there.
I love horseback riding and horses, even though I was kicked in the head by a Clydesdale horse when I was 5.
I love how I feel when I am done working out, even though it is not my favourite thing to do.
I love being around people, even though I enjoy time at home by myself.
I enjoy reading, playing volleyball, badminton and swimming.
I prefer dogs over cats, chocolate over vanilla except when we are talking cake.
I prefer tea over coffee, sweets over salt and lemons over limes.
I have lived in Edmonton for almost 20 years but it's not my home. I grew up in southern Saskatchewan, a small Hamlet called Lancer, which had approximately 100 people living in it when I was there. I now appreciate all the good it had to offer but didn't love it when I was a teenager. I love that I still have friends from there that I have known for over 30 years but I didn't love that there were limited things to do and people to meet. I cherish the memories that were made and love visiting the quiet, quaint town, but know that I prefer to be close to a big city.
I am honest and tell it like it is, although this trait has gotten me in trouble at times.
I am patient, but it's taken time to get to where I am today and it is something I continue to work on daily.
I am simple, although my mind can be quite complex at times.
I am generous and often put others first, but don't like to be taken advantage of.
I can be a talker, but love to sit back and listen too.
I can be kind, but stand up for what is right.
I can be very organized, but when in a hotel, lookout.
I can be reasonable, but stubborn at times.
I love spending time with friends and family.
I love watching my son sleep, even though he's no longer a baby.
I love being a mom, even though it wasn't planned.
I love being me and the person I have become, even though I may not be for everyone.
This is me, my name is Colette and I am excited to be on this journey called life.
