3 tips to a more focused and more energetic you

What’s the goal, topic, vision or lifestyle that you’re passionate about? Have you thought about it?

If it makes you lose track of time, puts a spark in your eye, and occupies most of your waking hours, yeah, that’s your passion. Unfortunately, far too many people can’t immediately say what they’re passionate about. Sometimes they think their personal passion is not allowed—especially if it’s not useful, lucrative or accepted. Or they first have to peel away years of relationship stuff, guilt and missed opportunities to find their passion and purpose hiding just underneath.

Are you ready to add a little more passion to everything you do? Are you ready to start living the life you want versus traveling a road dictated by others? Take a look below at what works to bring more passion to achieving your biggest life goals.


Tip #1: Rediscover Your True Passion, Not Someone Else’s Plan for You. You weren't built by accident. You’re built uniquely for a purpose that not only serves the world, but which also inspires and motivates you. Unfortunately, most people find that their deepest desires have been masked by what other people want you to do. You get a business degree because your parents expect it, when you secretly want to pursue a career in the arts. You agree to start a family right away, even though your real passion is to travel the globe. You love being a mom, doing organic gardening, and cooking healthy meals, but that’s not considered an “important” career.


If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. On the way to pleasing others, being politically correct, paying the bills and securing the “future,” most people have sadly lost track of their own true desires.

So what’s one way out of this predicament? Start removing the clutter and obstacles in your life that are holding you back from following your heart. When you begin to eliminate fear, the weight of debt, laziness, self-sabotage, and toxic people, your true self will begin to emerge. You'll start to get a glimpse of what's inside of you, and your heartfelt passions will come to light.


Tip #2: Turn Your Passion into the Ultimate Career. Of course, passion is the fuel that will help you achieve your goals and change your life even if you don’t have the knowledge, contacts, funding or opportunities right now. Unfortunately, many people get so caught up in the clutter of everyday life, they don’t see an opportunity for them in an activity they love.


They don’t realize that social media, e-commerce, and other technology has changed the equation by creating opportunities in blogging, photography, travel, publishing, entrepreneurship, forex trading, spiritual leadership, developing new inventions, and providing unique services. In fact, today, it’s more possible than ever to turn your passion into a full-time career, thriving business, or side gig that pays the bills.


Tip #3: Anticipate Roadblocks and Let Passion Carry You Through. Your road to your dream life will not always be rainbows and butterflies; you will encounter bumps, potholes, and detours. You finally commit to getting in shape, but then you sprain an ankle. You finally build up an emergency fund, and then the furnace breaks. After a rough patch with your spouse, things are going fairly well, but then an offhand remark turns into a heated argument. In these moments, you’ll want to stop because it is hard to see a way through.


Let passion pull you through these challenges. Remember why your health is so vital to your future. Remember why you want to feel the freedom of being debt-free. Remember why it’s so important that you are in a loving and committed relationship. Your “why” will give you passion—and your passion will see you through.


Of course, working on something you’re passionate about is only a part of the process of creating overall balance in your life. There’s also your finances, family, career, faith, friends and funtime to consider. The key is to decide what you want in these areas, make some goals, and stay accountable to taking action daily to bring about those goals.
